Polar Structure expands into maritime infrastructure with acquisition in the Port of Landskrona

Stockholm, 15 October 2026 – Polar Structure has today completed the acquisition of a shipyard and industrial port area in the Port of Landskrona, southern Sweden. The acquisition comprises Varvsudden and adjacent properties and marks the company’s entry into maritime infrastructure, alongside its existing investments in transport, energy and digital infrastructure.

Located on the Öresund strait, Varvsudden is one of Sweden’s few remaining large-scale shipyard sites, with dry dock capacity, quays and industrial premises on an important shipping route connecting the Baltic Sea with the North Sea. The site has a maritime industrial history dating back more than a century.

As Sweden strengthens its defence capabilities and national resilience, strategically located ports and maritime industrial facilities are becoming increasingly important.

“Ports and shipyards are where Sweden’s industry, trade and defence capability meet. Long-term ownership and investment are essential to securing this infrastructure for the future. Varvsudden is our first step into maritime infrastructure, and we intend to build on it,” says Tobias Emanuelsson, Group CEO of Polar Structure.

Polar Structure is looking to acquire further port and maritime infrastructure across the Nordic region, including port land and quays, shipyards and dry docks, and terminals connecting sea and rail. The company welcomes dialogue with industrial operators, municipalities and other owners seeking a long-term owner or partner.
